EVANGELISM

Raising Up the Next Generation

“One generation shall commend your works to another,

and shall declare your mighty acts.

On the glorious splendor of your majesty,

and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.

They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,

and I will declare your greatness.

They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness

and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.” (Psalm 145:4-7)

Church Planting

All the existing pastors in the Gasabo Diocese fundraise as a team with a goal of planting ten new churches. Every church is built by people within the Gasabo Diocese which creates jobs but these buildings cannot be sustained through Rwandan tithes alone. To give you perspective the concrete for one church is roughly $35,000. These churches have multiple functions; primary schools for HTH’s preschool program, community meeting spaces, classrooms for training pastors and a house of worship. Supporting the community is not just Biblical training but also includes nutrition and academic education.

Training Pastors in Rural Communities & Equipping Local Leaders

Pastoral training and education is expensive and not readily available to rural communities. The Rwandan Anglican Church meets this need through offering an intensive course that raises up the next generation in Bible knowledge, theological training and pastoral care. Each course costs $100. This includes all materials, food, lodging and staff costs. Click HERE to sponsor the next generation of Rwandan Pastors.

Sharing the Gospel through Radio Waves

The Rwandan Government asked the Rwandan Anglican Church to host a weekly national English radio ministry aimed at young students. This radio station preaches the gospel while teaching Biblical truths. This is one way we are training up the next generation of Christian leaders. Topics that range from the Lord’s Prayer to Lent are instilling truth into the hearts and minds of young people. Some of these young adults have never stepped into a church building but are hearing the gospel.

URBAN MINISTRY

“She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” (Proverbs 31:25)

Kangondo Village, an impoverished community which is a five minute walk from Kibagabaga Anglican Church that has over 50,000 people and roughly 5,000 children that are under the age of five. These families have endured incredible hardships including but not limited to HIV, malaria, parasites, prostitution and abuse. Most families in this village live on less than $5 a day and struggle to provide for their families.

In 2016, the body of Christ came together to begin meeting the needs in Kangondo Village. Through Clement and Marie Immaculee, a lay couple in the local community, Shelbye and Annie in partnership with Word Made Flesh Rwanda and the Rwandan Anglican Church relationships are being built and restoration is beginning to transform this community in the name of Jesus.

Clement and Marie Immaculee have graciously opened a community center in their home. With the help of Word Made Flesh Rwanda they have begun a Women’s Saving Group. Weekly meetings have allowed women in the community to come together and identify their most pressing needs. Through this group they are saving money, receiving health education, supporting each other in the family way and hearing the gospel. Annie says, “I am constantly amazed by the women’s strength. They are incredibly resilient.”

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”  Colossians 3:17
