NUTRITION
PROVIDING TODAY'S NUTRIENTS TO TOMORROWS LEADERS
“For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” (Psalm 107:9)
Rwanda is a country full of Hope- Hope of a bright future from a dark past. Right now, Rwanda’s future hopes, her children, are not developing properly because of a lack of nutritious food.
Preschools of Gasabo Diocese have an urgent need for adequate nutrition as many children suffer from stunted growth. Hope On A Thousand Hills’ Education Program can only be so effective when the students are lacking the nutrients necessary for proper development. Realizing this need, HTH designed a Nutrition Program, subsidizing children’s diets with a daily nutritious snack in their preschools. The current snack is a handful of peanuts, providing good calories full of important fats and proteins. With regular health assessments and community surveys, these snacks can be regularly adjusted to meet changing needs.
When provided with food, children who may have otherwise been kept home start coming to school, and the Education Program grows. That’s how a Nutrition Program of 150 students grows to over 1000 students within the first 2 years! Providing a daily snack for one student costs about $30 a year. As the Education Program grows, so do the needs of the Nutrition Program. To become a financial partner for this important program, click the “Donate” button at the top of the page.
“Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:10)
