Pastor Brandon spends most of his time leading the English Service at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Gasbo Diocese and working at Kigali Anglican Theological College. However, he has been deeply involved in compassionate ministry work, helping to develop resources and tell Gasabo's story.

Leads a congregation of over one million called the Anglican Church of Rwanda. Living in Gasabo, a district within Kigali. Archbishop has identified 5 pillars of his ministry, Evangelism and Discipleship, Preschool Education, Pastoral Education, Sustainability, and Financial Accountability.

Archdeacon Samuel

Coming on staff in 2014 to assist the Archbishop in pastoral leadership and training, he provides a critical role in Gasabo Diocese. Providing wisdom and accountability to the leadership team Archdeacon supports the directors well.

Daniel Kayijuka
Rwanda
Daniel started with Gasabo Diocese in 2014. Daniel testified to the growth of Gasabo, “I use to sit at Brandon's house on the front porch discussing vision for our work. Now we have an office and weekly staff meetings and are looking for chairs for all to join together." He said, ”We are doing more than working for the church all week. We are reaching out to the members of the church every day. Changing lives throughout the week.”

Matthew Von Herbulis
Director of Agriculture and Nutrition

Matthew designs and manages the Agriculture Program's Farmer Trainings, and the Research & Demonstration Farm in Rutunga. He focuses on Nutrition-sensitive Agriculture, and taylors the Agriculture Program to meet the needs of the Nutrition Program. He lives in Kigali with his wife, Karli, daughter, Hallelujah, and son, Shepherd. When Matthew gets home from work he plays in his garden with his children. He enthusiastically says, “This is my dream job!”

Deo Bayinganga
Assistant Director of Agriculture & Nutrition

Deo holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and brings the team a wealth of experience with other organizations working in sustainable agriculture in Rwanda. He works directly with Matthew and helps bridge relationships between Hope on a Thousand Hills and the local community. “To see people change their ways of living; from poverty to sustainability which would improve the quality of life would be enough for me.”

Emmanuel Mutuyeyesu

Rene’ Hirwa

Rene’ has extensive training from Teach Rwanda, a premier preschool education NGO in Rwanda. Coaching and advocating for Hope on a Thousand Hills’ preschool teachers is his main role. Currently he is developing a play based learning curriculum that will better equip HTH’s teachers and unify the preschool program.

Shelbye Renfro
Co-Director of Urban Ministry

Shelbye is the Field Director for Word Made Flesh in Rwanda who partners with HTH to provide leadership and skills to our Urban Ministry team. She is passionate about families and women’s ministry. Beginning with women’s support groups; she has seen growth in the Kangondo Village through the financial planning and health seminars that are laced with the gospel.

Annie works for Word Made Flesh Rwanda in partnership with Hope on a Thousand Hills as well. “I love working with women, advocating, seeing them take ownership for their lives as they realize they aren't limited to what the world tells them they are limited to."

Marie Immaculee

In partnership with her husband, Clement, they have opened their home to hold the women’s small groups. She graciously translates all the educational seminars and shares the gospel each week with the the women in Kangondo Village.
